Web

Most of these websites were designed using Yola, a free content management system that saves the customer money because there is no monthly hosting cost.

Whole Health Expo

Problem: website needed a face lift, since the original site had been made many years ago. New information such as forms, announcements, and program guides have to be added to the site throughout the year, with little or no lead time. Client needed a site that could be updated on the fly, without having to wait and pay for a developer, yet the site had to have an attractive, clean look, that would not get cluttered as it gets updated. The site had to be created at a moderate cost and lead time.

Solution: A middle of the road content management system was used, called Content Management System Made Simple (CMSMS). It's more robust and flexible than Yola but less than popular systems like Joomla or Drupal; this was a good trade off, because CMSMS had sufficient features, was less expensive, easier to update, and faster to implement than the more sophisticated systems.

Celtic Harp and Crystals
www.celticharp.yolasite.com/

Problem: client desired an increase in CD sales, gem and mineral sales, and attract event opportunities. He spends time volunteering, mining, and writing and playing music so didn't have time to work with a designer on a website. He also needed a site with low up-front cost and a way to attract some traffic.

Solution: created an inexpensive website, and content was found online instead of supplied by the client, Preliminary, inexpensive marketing can get the site noticed, including basic search engine submission and use of the site's built in SEO features. Client will put inexpensive but nice looking labels on the back of the CD's, to promote the site to existing customers who want to by his other titles.

Pizza Amore

Problem:
Customers were calling asking for menus but the
pizzeria did not have a website; most of the customers did
not have a fax machine. The client was investing in print ads which were too small to show the entire menu.

Solution: The website was made to attract new customers and meet the needs of repeat customers who want to see the menu online. The client benefited from
fast deployment, free website hosting, very easy content management, a free website address, and ability to easily and inexpensively upgrade to a custom website address.

Noho Film Group

www.movietalk.org

Problem: Non-profit group was using the basic 1-page website that came with their Yahoo! Listserv. A new and nicer looking website with better functionality was desired but the non-profit group did not want to spend money on a new site.

Solution: The site was developed pro bono to advertise the group, add listings of film events into a single website, and provide a way for new members to join the listserv. The site is not updated over the summer.
